This was such a fun escape! The dog days of summer are catching up to me and this felt like a mini vacation right from my own living room. Julian and Emma are sweet and offer a beautiful reminder that life is about so much more than money and physical “impressive” *things*. Coming from similar backgrounds and refusing to succumb to those, I felt the instalove was authentic.
Despite both coming from a life where they could’ve had it “all”, they refuse to feel empty, despite the struggle that they endure because of it. I could feel the insecurities in each, but enjoyed how they overcome those as their love develops on a deeper level together. Be aware that your emotions are going to take a rollercoaster ride with these two!
I adored how Emma saw deeper into Julian’s work than what was created on the canvas. Julian is a strong, rich support for Emma as she struggles with the newness of her decisions. The self-realization that develops as a result is extremely rewarding and makes this a perfect beach read for the summer (even if you have to do it at home….without the beach).
