Rosie ran from one type of danger…headlong into another.

Rosie Milne is trapped again, and her first reaction is to run. But is she ready to go it alone in such a desolate world? The man in camouflage could be another type of trouble, but after he shows her kindness, something tells her he’s anything but.

After being separated from his platoon, Captain Mason Wilder is determined to find his closest friend amongst a city crawling with undead. He just needs somewhere to lay his head for the night. But will he remember his special forces training, or does exhaustion take over, and lead him to someone he didn’t even know he was looking for?

Meeting each other is mere fate, but working together as a team is a choice. One thing is certain: Wilder and Rosie won’t let anything tear them apart, human or otherwise.

For as long as I can remember, apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic books have called my name every time. There is something about the world being in utter disarray that makes my reader heart happy. That being said, I’d prefer it stay a work of fiction and not become a real-life event. Haha!

When we meet Rosie, she’s in a tough spot. She’s been kept safe while on the run, but at what cost? I loved when she found her inner strength and literally ran away from her group that included her slimy boyfriend. What we know about her background leads us to wonder how she’s going to survive out there on her own. Then she meets Wilder and we KNOW!

Wilder has military training, so he’s prepared for the worst. He has a strength that exudes confidence in difficult situations and has a methodical approach to what he’s facing. But we also get to see the softer side when he immediately wants to protect Rosie.

In a post-apocalyptic world, I can only imagine how much more urgency is in every situation – from survival to love. Woods does an incredible job at giving us a romance that is developed in a short time span. We can’t help but root for them to not only survive, but thrive! I hope to see even more books in this series because I am in LOVE!
