Bourbon Canyon is one of my favorite places to visit! From the very beginning, this character cast caught my attention and they all live rent-free in my head. As always, I recommend starting from the beginning of a series because you don’t want to miss a thing!
Junie and Rhys took a second chance romance and knocked it out of the park! As teenagers, they had a life together — one that fell apart when Rhys let Junie go to chase after her musical dreams. It was heartbreaking, but it’s their journey to potentially finding a way back together than digs deep and pulls at every emotion as you read.
Rhys has been through a lot and there were times I wanted to throttle him. As a parent, I understand the need to protect his children, but I felt like he was projecting a lot of his own pain through that. Junie is the sweetest! To an extent, I felt like these two were doomed to repeat their torture when Junie inevitably had to return to tour.
My favorite part is overall Rhy’s girls — so sweet and such a heartwarming part of the book. But ultimately, I loved when Junie found her muse to write again. We get to see her doing her thing while simultaneously healing. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
