I am literally walking around looking like the heart-eyes emoji after reading this book! Baz and Emerson climbed the ranks and stole the second-place spot of my favorite Foster couples (Tru and Gemma are my forever favorite!).
Baz’s story came at the perfect time, and it was absolutely worth every second that we had to wait for it! He’s an incredible vet, but as a man, he is off-the-charts PHENOMENAL! He has such a big heart, and his trauma makes you love him all the more because you want him to find true peace. But as swoony-sweet as he is, the man has a mouth that delivers the most wickedly good lines EVER!

Emerson’s historic pain of losing her family with the approaching birth of her son is a lot to handle. Once she meets Baz and he sets his heart on her, she begins healing (long before she even realizes it!) and finds a family to move forward with. Seeing her growth was envy-worthy as she was determined to be an amazing mother.
Baz and Emerson had me laughing, crying, and feeling absolutely at peace by the end of their story. It’s heartwarming to read about a couple who is willing to put in the work to overcome their past in order to have a better future together. All of her supporting characters enhance the story, adding an extension of a story to their own without overshadowing Baz and Emerson.
