One of my favorite parts of an enemies to lovers story is the banter that covers up the tension underneath. It’s charged, fun, and you know once they give in, all bets are off. In true Foster fashion, this book fulfills every ounce of energy I want in this trope!
We’ve had little snippets of how much animosity there has been between Sutton and Flynn, so I couldn’t wait to dive in and directly feel it. In the past, they’ve been able to (mostly) avoid each other and go their own ways, but when their work assignment forces them in close quarters, it’s all bets off! The heat of the rainforest was absolutely NOTHING compared to the inferno that Sutton and Flynn create.
When they have to return home, the dynamics shift again, making the new territory a bit daunting and seemingly impossible. But their love for one another shines stronger than any outside influence, making them raw, open, and honest with each other about where they want things to go. From the innuendo banter to the sweet whisperings, this couple is EVERYTHING and then some!
