My new fake boyfriend? I can’t stand him. Pascal Gagnon is a broody lumberjack with a pine tree stuck up his self-righteous ass.

He needs my help investigating his father’s accident, and I need the work to help my PI business get off the ground.

We’re total opposites—he’s an uptight control freak, and I’ve been described as a hurricane. Forced to live together to keep up appearances while I gather evidence, we bicker nonstop, but the fake relationship ruse is the perfect cover. Even if it means having to tolerate his shirtless piano playing.

This small town is hiding secrets, and as we work together to uncover them, things heat up between the sheets and in the case.

The danger is as real as the feelings I’m developing for my fake boyfriend. As we close in on the truth, can we also find our happily ever after?

My Thoughts:

Pascal was definitely not my favorite brother at the start of the series. But he grew on me – quickly! I’m typically attracted to a grump, but Paz, well, his was a little different. Now I know why, and I love him for every bit of it. As much as I loved him, though, it was Parker who stole my heart this time around. She’s strong, fierce, and gives sass as much as she gets. I absolutely adore how Parker gets Pascal to open up to her. She truly is his best match – the one who brings out the best in him!

The history of their father’s murder and how it links to the Heberts is heating up nicely. Cliffhangers are not my favorite, but Daphne Elliot does a tremendous job of layering the romance with the investigation by the Gagnon children. It is riveting while giving you that swoon factor! Clive, the moose, adds a little humor with his antics toward Pascal and Parker.

Excited about Adele and Finn’s upcoming story next!
