My Thoughts:
Prepare yourself for a mystery that hits your heart and emotions hard from the very first chapter! Sheriff Jax Turner is facing a dark path of his own, when by some strange twist of fate, he’s saved by a call for assistance with a missing girl. It gives him a purpose and (hopefully) redemption for a similar case that has haunted him for years. With his entire life in shambles, Turner embarks on a case that is going to upend his life all over again.
I thoroughly enjoyed how in depth this book was. I did have to slow down to keep up with the case, but it enabled me to fully-submerge myself into the details as though I was riding alongside Turner. There are plenty of suspects and a dive into several power positions that give you an eerie feeling as to what is about to unfold. Absolutely can’t wait for more!

Mary Keliikoa is the author of Hidden Pieces and the upcoming Deadly Tides in the Misty Pines mystery series, the PI Kelly Pruett mystery series which includes the Shamus, Lefty, Agatha and Anthony nominated Derailed for best debut, and the upcoming Don’t Ask, Don’t Follow out Summer of 2024.
