This beautiful story blew me out of the water! Inside the gorgeous cover, you’ll find Willow and Dallas – both are grumpy and have themselves convinced that they are “just fine” in life. Each one has faced difficult life situations that shaped them into who they are today. But once their paths cross, they discover that fate has bigger plans than they could’ve ever imagined.
Willow lost her parents as a little girl and ended up being raised by her godparents (mostly her godmother). She placed her focus on building a life of success and does feel fulfilled by her work, yet something is missing. As she goes to deal with the unexpected inheritance, I love how the small town and people draw her in. It’s a truly pivotal moment to watch her literally letting her hair down and learning to let people in.
Dallas is determined that he’s not letting a woman into his heart or mind — especially Willow. But it doesn’t take long to see that he’s lost that battle. My heart ached for him not getting to clear the air with his father before his death. But with Willow, he finds a sense of peace and everything he didn’t know he was missing. And the manners kink? Yes!! So here for it!
Plenty of spice between these two with the build-up tension being one of the best I have read in awhile. You’ll get swoon, laughs, and plenty of heartfelt moments that make you fall in love with all of the characters. Can’t wait for more of the series!
