This is a first of the author’s books for me — and I was impressed by the emotional read I chose to discover her by! I have a friend that I met years ago at a blog conference and since, she became an avid foster parent with the support of her husband and biological children. They have since adopted several, giving the children a safe, happy, and healthy home. I loved reading about this in a book!
Instantly, we fall in love with Bailey Ann and her tragic story of having to undergo a heart transplant at age seven – while also experiencing the not-so-good side of foster care. Dr. Collin Cassidy wants to give her the best of everything, including her surgery. He hires an attorney – Genevieve Porter.
Genevieve Porter is a lot like Collin – she really has no intentions of getting married or romance in general. That’s why her proposal of a marriage of convenience is a little off-the-wall. Yet, I think life puts us exactly where we need to be. So, I found myself falling into this crazy idea along with them. And what a fun ride it was!
