When Beau Wade left his small hometown of Whitecap, Oregon, he swore to himself he’d never go back. But when his NFL career goes up in smoke, that’s exactly what he finds himself doing.
Not much has changed in the ten years he’s been gone. Gossip still spreads through town like wildfire, Dropped Anchor is still the local’s favorite bar, and the woman he’s been secretly in love with most of his life still hates his guts.
Presley Fields is even more beautiful than he remembered. Her smile has the power to light up a room and that bubbly personality of hers is still as strong as ever. For everyone but Beau, anyway, and that’s the least he deserves for making her high school years a nightmare.
He isn’t the same stupid kid he was back then, and after watching her slip through his fingers too many times, the tides have finally turned in his favor. It’ll take a miracle, and every ounce of charm he has, but he’s determined to win her heart. And this time, he intends to keep it.

If ever there was a book to personify what a second chance romance should look like, THIS IS IT! WOW! The emotional depth between Beau and Presley exceeded my expectations for what I’ve come to known as a second chance romance.
Beau has seemingly always taken issue with Presley since high school. The push and pull he does with her nearly gives you whiplash at the changes in how he treats her. Once you learn the motivation behind the shifts, your heart will peel back the hardened layers you developed early on for him. You’ll find yourself falling in love with how deep his roots run with love for Presley.
Presley is fantastic. She is working hard to make her dreams come true as a business owner and has a sweet soul that you can’t help but love. She’s an amazing daughter, friend, and boss. But when it comes to Beau, he brings out a fierce side that makes Presley absolutely fearless (even if she can’t see it!). Her friendship with Colbie is fun and full of surprises.
Once you get deeper into the book and learn the outside interference that has kept these two apart (and Beau from being completely honest with how he feels), be prepared for the emotional well to flow. There is a lot of forgiveness that needs to happen, as well as putting some things in their place for good. When these two come together, it’s like the heavens opened up and we see them move mountains together. I can’t wait to read Colbie’s book!
