I adore finding new-to-me authors who provide a beautiful escape from the real world. Romantic suspense is one of my favorites as I enjoy feeling on the edge of my seat while being wrapped up in a love story. Based on the cover alone, I was expecting the book to be a little on the sweeter side – but I was pleasantly surprised at how well the heavier topics were explored.
Both Logan and Tessa have experienced some trauma, pain, and difficulty in life. But once these two find each other, we see the processing begin and a new path forging ahead together. The emotional depth is completely on point – from the sadness to the laughter – it’s all written to keep your heart and mind both fully involved.
I feel like the plot moves each part of the romance and suspense at a comfortable pace, giving the reader a carefully curated ride that will stick with you. The slow burn on the feelings that develop made it feel more authentic when we finally get to the moment Logan and Tessa are ready to accept that what they have is more that a fleeting moment.
After reading the ebook, this book is WAY too good not to get a hard copy for my bookshelf!
