I never said I was engaged to Alex Stone (a.k.a., the richest man in Eureka)…
My douchey ex just assumed I was, and I didn’t correct him.

You see, I was having a moment.
I was out of work, out of money, and Alex had just offered me a lifeline by hiring me to be his live-in nanny for a month.

So when Drake the douche starts going on about what a hot mess I am at my best friend’s wedding, I kind of let him believe we were a thing.
I never said the word fiancé, and I definitely never expected Alex to play along.

Alex Stone is one of those list-topping, billionaire businessmen-types.
He’s controlled, formal, and never makes a bad decision.
He’s also tall, dark, and brutally handsome, with smokey hazel eyes, wavy brown hair, and a bod that will melt your brain.
(A detail I happen to know after accidentally catching him just out of the shower naked.)

The plan is he’ll secretly be my fake fiancé for the night, no harm done.
But when the douche stays longer than the wedding, our “engagement” stops being a secret.
And when Alex decides there are things we should know how to do if we’re engaged (like making out and sleeping together), my lie really gets out of control.

Because it’s one thing to be fake engaged to the hottest, richest man in town, who also happens to be your live-in boss.
It’s a little twist to find yourself falling in love with him.

(A LITTLE TWIST is a steamy small-town, single-dad/nanny romance with a fake engagement twist. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

My Thoughts:

After Aiden and Britt’s HEA, I was excited to head back to Eureka, South Carolina to get a front row seat to Alex and Cass’s story! I love the quirkiness of the town and the cast of characters who feel like an extended family I’m going home to see.

Alex and Cass’s story begins way back when they were kids and during a time when Alex loses the one man he truly connects with. From fishing to bourbon, Alex has a unique blend that leads his own life, holding strong in believing that things happen at the right time and maintaining a sense of patience. He’s a single dad to an adorable, spunky daughter named Penelope, aka Pinky. Pinky steals the show and honestly, I hope she gets her own story someday because I would love to see the man who can keep up with this little spitfire!

Cass has her own brand of unique, desperately searching for a career that resonates with her soul. She has such a big heart and is always looking to make life good and happy for others. Her ex, Drake, is such a jerk and added another protective layer to shell when he told her that she’d be nothing by the time she was 30 years old. Once her friends point out how she finds fulfillment when working with kids, she finally aligns with her path and life begins positively shifting for her.

Of course, no good romance doesn’t have it’s bumpy roads. The twists throughout the book add a fun dynamic that makes you want to live in Alex and Cass’s world forever! The steamy moments between these two are all-encompassing of your senses. I would read them, then go back and re-read because they are SO delicious!

This is one of those books that is going to stick to your heart when you finish reading. It’s full of emotion that makes you swoon, cry, and laugh at precisely the right moments.

My favorite quote:

Alex to Drake (when him and Cass aren’t officially in a relationship yet) – “Insult my wife one more time, Rexford….” — “From what I hear, you never did it for her either.”
