A Seaside Bookshop Christmas:
A Single Dad, Friends to Lovers Small Town Romance
(The Turner Family of Bluestar Island)
by Jennifer Faye
About A Seaside Bookshop Christmas
Twelve days before Christmas, the forecast is calling for snow with a hundred percent chance of love as the owner of the Seaside Bookshop risks everything, including her heart.
Christmas returns to Bluestar Island in this heartwarming page-turner. While the small town’s holiday calendar is filled with festive events, the friendships of Bluestar’s residents are put to the test. Melinda Coleman, owner of the Seaside Bookshop, finds herself making a deal with the town curmudgeon that could cost her everything. While furniture maker Liam Turner is suddenly a full-time single father, he’s in over his head with an active three-year-old. It will take these two friends helping each other to keep their lives from imploding, and in the process, they find the most precious gift of all—love.
Includes a holiday recipe for Santa’s Mitten cookies!

My Thoughts:
Ready to get into the Christmas spirit? This sweet, clean book has several of the tropes I love including single dad and small town. I haven’t read the previous books of the series, but I felt like I was walking into a cast of characters who held their own without making feel like I was missing something.
All throughout this book, I felt myself smiling, feeling the warmth of the characters, the scenery, and Christmas atmosphere. It’s like a warm hug for the season. Melinda has an uplifting, kind personality toward everyone – even if they’re a little less than deserving! Liam is a single dad, working with for a total Scrooge, and Melinda’s friend. Seeing how these two navigate a friendship that becomes more is as exciting as unwrapping a gift from under the tree! But parts of the journey are like that gag gift that your sibling wrapped with extra tape.
Living in a small town that is also a tourist town (not by the water, though!), I could relate to the preparations for the Christmas celebration, the quirky personalities of the townspeople, and the spirit of coming together to make things happen. This is a book I look forward to reading at the holidays again!
