Best friend’s sibling/Brother’s best friend are some of my favorite tropes. This was a fun novella that brought together a couple who have a history of one night together, yet it was a night they’ve never forgotten. Their lives have evolved and now Dan finds himself back with an entirely new level of complications to their dynamic — he’s a father. Rose has been keeping to herself, isolating her life from everyone. Dan and Maisie are exactly what she needed to boost her Christmas spirits and find faith in living a full life again. I found myself enjoying their growth as a little family. So sweet!
I haven’t read the other books prior to this one in the Fellside Mountain Rescue series, but I thought Dani did a great job at bringing enough information to the table on the characters and their stories to fulfill the dynamic I was looking for. That’s often very difficult to capture in a novella, so KUDOS to Dani!
