My Thoughts:
Move out of the way book boyfriends – Blaine Wicked is HERE! With his oldest sibling domineering and raising leading him to be a full-on protective alpha male, Blaine is one of the HOTTEST heroes that Melissa has ever written. And the heroine – Reese Wilder – she is absolute perfection for this hero!
Reese immediately has my attention when she’s trying to play mom to her younger sister and help keep their heads above water. She’s giving her all to clean up their mother’s messes and unfortunately, drowning herself in the process. Reese is an incredible woman, but you can feel her losing herself in these dark waters. Yet in all her despair, this woman is incredible in her strength, willpower, and ability to stand her own against Blaine. She gives as good as she gets and I’m here for all of it!
When Blaine pulls her out of a bachelor party that could have had devastating effects on her life, he tries to convince himself that he’s only doing it because of how he’s been raised, and his values reinforced by the Dark Knights. Whether he wants to accept it or not, Reese is his undoing. And I absolutely LOVE that we get a front row seat to all the wicked and dirty things! This book had me wiggling in my seat with excitement (I couldn’t sit still…IYKYK!!)
As always, I enjoy catching up with other characters and how their lives are evolving. Melissa is an excellent storyteller, ensuring that the reader gets a completely immersive experience with the main characters, previous book storylines, and foreshadows at new ones. Absolutely spectacular!
