My Thoughts:
Stepping foot back into Cedar Ridge, I felt like I was the one finding a family again! Each couple holds a special place in my heart, but there is always one that I immediately know are going to be my favorite. Roan and Aspen have been on my mind since the start of the series. Now, I may change my mind once I get to read about Lawson and the woman who makes him fall, but for now, these two have my heart wrapped around them!
Aspen and Cady are such a sweet mother-daughter combo and although not much was revealed in previous books, it was obvious that they had a past. Roan has unfairly suffered at the very idea that he could’ve been involved with hurting Wren, thus, turning into the reclusive, grumpy man at the start. I absolutely love a broody kind of man who can’t stop falling down the slope once he meets his match. And this time, it’s not just the leading lady who gets him to fall – it’s the sweet little Cady! Her heart is so big, kind, and full of optimism.
I absolutely love everything about this book. While I love Roan as a bit broody, when he begins to shine, it’s spectacular. Aspen handles her situation in the best way she knows how, and I adore that she remains open and honest with Cady. The suspense is perfectly built, sprinkled in with just enough hints to keep you questioning who could be behind everything. And then it’s soothed with heat that sends your heart soaring. Catherine has the true authority for giving us the perfect balance!
