My Thoughts:
When a series makes you feel like you’re heading back ‘home’, you know you’re reading the right books! Stepping back into Valentine, Texas made my heart feel full of love and I couldn’t wait to see Kinsley get her happily ever after that she’d been manifesting for years.
I love how Kinsley has such a unique personality and everyone embraces it – including her. It’s so refreshing! Even though she’s spent the past decade trying to erase the hurt that she experienced with Hayden. When she finds herself wanting to progress at the local newspaper she works for, she has to go back before she can go forward by featuring a full feature on the bookstore that Hayden’s family owns. It puts her face-to-face with the man himself and he’s not making it easy on her.
Hayden left Valentine to pursue what he thought would be a career to make him ‘enough’ for Kinsley. But he ended up meeting Penelope and quickly found himself stuck. It didn’t take long for her to rise to the top of my villian list. That woman is VILE! When Hayden comes back to Valentine and sees Kinsley, it’s as if his soul finally settles. But with so much left behind in his new life, you’ll wonder if he’ll ever truly want to go back to go forward.
The heat between this second chance, love-to-hate-to-love couple is so hot that you might not want to sit under a sprinkler while reading this!
